2016, The Year In Review

Another year almost behind us! Time to look back and reflect on the low-lights and highlights before looking ahead to 2017.

2016

Several years ago I began an annual habit of reviewing the year behind me and “putting it to rest” before embracing the year ahead.

Reviewing the year behind you gives you the opportunity to forgive and forget past mistakes and to relinquish any hold they may still have over you, by asking yourself what lessons you can learn from them and then letting them go.

It also gives you the opportunity to recall and celebrate all your accomplishments and achievements too.

We often get so caught up in our day to day lives, that we forget all the things we have achieved and experienced throughout the year, the people we have met, the challenges we have faced and overcome, and the fun we have experienced along the way.

Did you achieve your goals? Is there something you would do differently or better if you had the chance again?

For me, a highlight of 2016 was being accepted to study for a BA degree through UNISA,

the first step towards the eventual realisation of a long-held dream (inspired by my husband) to earn my Masters Degree in (Motivational) Psychology.

Another highlight was the unexpected addition of “Buddy” to our family. One of my greatest joys this year.

He has been my constant companion, study buddy and business partner throughout 2016, and he even graduated from Doggy School with 2 certificates!

In addition, I have so many things to be happy and grateful for. My family are all happy, healthy, thriving and prospering. What more can a girl ask for? ( Well, shoes maybe? Some new clothes? A shopping trip? A resort holiday? Some overseas travel, and a cruise?... )Well, why not?

2017 is a clean slate, a fresh new canvas just waiting for creative energy to splash it with vibrant colour.

2017 beckons. Are you ready to embrace it?
