My 30 Day No Alcohol Challenge - Day 3

Today I would like to share with you some of the reasons why I started this 30 Day No Alcohol Challenge.

Initially it started with my desire to lose weight. After struggling for some time to get myself in a place where I was ready, willing and able to commit to a diet/weight-loss programme, I finally took the plunge at the beginning of October (October 6, to be exact).

I’ve been taking it slow and easy, following my own plan – this is not my first time on a diet J, so by now I have a pretty good idea of the do’s and don’ts, ins and outs, and ups and (hopefully) downs of successful dieting/weight-loss, but after ten days on the programme, I had only lost a measly 0.6kg.

I knew that the reason for the slow loss was due to the few glasses of alcohol I consumed each night, sitting in front of the TV.

I knew I needed to do something drastic to improve my results. I also knew that I need to cut down on my alcohol consumption. But I also know that giving up drinking is not an easy thing to do. I have tried numerous times in the past, with limited results.

At around the same time, my honorary daughter Cassie, began a 30 Day blogging challenge on her Amazeblog, http://www.amazeblog.com/ , and my work colleague (inspired by me,J) started her own 40 day weight-loss challenge!

Then on 20 October 2015, I received an email in my inbox from Stefan Pylarinos http://projectlifemastery.com/, promoting his friend James Swanwick’s 30 day no alcohol challenge. http://30daynoalcoholchallenge.com/

Although I didn’t join James group, I could see the benefits of completing such a challenge.

As a trained life coach, I am also well aware of the benefits of having support and accountability to achieve one’s goals. So I was inspired to create my own personal 30 day No Alcohol challenge to achieve my own weight loss target, and hopefully to inspire you to create your own 30 day challenge to achieve your own personal goals.

The 30 day No Alcohol challenge I am undertaking forms part of my mission and goal to lose weight and gain fitness over the next few weeks and months.

If you would like to share with me or become part of this journey, I look forward to answering your questions and reading your thoughts in the Comments below.
